Time-based games use either a count-up or count-down timer, both are showing on the game's map and both support time penalties. The setup and behavior of each differs as follows:
Count-Up Timer
The timer starts at zero when a player or team finds their first treasure, and stops when the last treasure is found or the game match ends.
To add the time-based game count-up timer feature, navigate to the General Settings:
Count-Down Timer
Count-down games are only available for matches started from the CMS. When creating the game match in the CMS, you set the total count-down duration. Once the match starts, the timer counts down toward zero. The timer stops early if all treasures are found before time runs out. If the timer reaches zero, the match ends immediately and no further treasures can be collected.
To add the count-down timer feature, go to the Game Control Panel and click “Start a match”:
In the pop-up window, select “Use a timer to end the match”, then set the desired duration in the timer field:
Once done, click “Create Invitation”. When you are ready to start the game, click “Begin”.
