Adding Users to Your Locatify Builder Account
Some of our licenses include the ability to add multiple users to a Locatify Builder (CMS) publisher account. Users linked to the same publisher account can:
- View and edit project content
- Publish projects
- Access scoreboards and reports
1. Admin Users vs. Editor Users
- Admin Users: Have full control over the publisher account, including managing users and content.
- Editor Users: Can only view and edit their own content.
Note: The admin is typically the billing user who upgraded the account.
2. Modifying an Existing User’s Role
Admins can change user permissions (switch from an Editor to an Admin role or vice versa). To update a user’s role:
- Log in to your Locatify Builder (CMS) account.
- Go to Account Settings (top right corner).
- Select the Users tab.
- Locate the user in the list and toggle their role between Admin and Editor.
3. Inviting a New User
Admins can also invite new collaborators who don’t yet have a CMS account. To do so:
- Navigate to the Users tab in Account Settings.
- Click Add User (top right corner).
- Enter the collaborator’s email address and select their role (Admin or Editor).
- The invited user will receive an email with a link to create their CMS account. Once registered, they’ll be added to the same publisher account automatically.
*Note: Please ensure that the collaborator you are inviting does not already have a CMS account. Each CMS account is linked to a single publisher, and it is not possible for one account to belong to multiple publishers.
If the person you want to invite already has a CMS account, you have two options:
- Invite them using a different email address, or
- If they must use the same email address associated with an existing CMS account, they will need to delete their current account before joining your publisher account.
If they choose to delete their existing account, they can export their projects beforehand and later import them into the new shared account.
