This account is where your app will be published, managed, and maintained on the Apple App Store. From here, you can manage your store listing, promotions, and set prices for tours or games sold in-app.

Your own account vs. hosting under LocatifyThis guide walks you through creating your own Apple Developer account — the recommended path, since it gives you full ownership and control over your app.
If you're unable to create your own account, your app can instead be hosted under Locatify's developer account. In that case:
- In-app purchases won't be available (e.g., selling tours or games in-app), since payments would go directly to Locatify.
- Locatify will appear as the developer name on your app's App Store listing, since the app is published under Locatify's account.
If you'd like to go this route instead, select "Host under Locatify's developer accounts" under Developer Accounts — no further steps in this guide are needed.
A. Account Creation
1. Go to Become a Member — Apple Developer Program to begin enrollment.
2. Sign in with an existing Apple ID, or create a new one if you don't already have one.
3. Choose to enroll as an Organization.
4. You'll need:
- A D-U-N-S Number (a unique business ID — Apple can help you look one up or request one if your organization doesn't have one yet).
- Legal entity name and proof you're authorized to act on behalf of the organization.
5. Review and accept the Apple Developer Program License Agreement.
6. Pay the annual enrollment fee ($99 USD/year at time of writing — confirm current pricing on Apple's site).
7. Apple will review your enrollment; this can take anywhere from a few hours to several business days, especially for organizations requiring identity/legal verification.
8. Once approved, you'll receive a confirmation email and your account will be active in App Store Connect.
From here, you will see an option to "Create a new app." Please leave this step to the Locatify team — we'll create the app entry once your account is set up and the Locatify team has been invited as Admins.
B. Invite Locatify Team as Admins
1. Go to App Store Connect — Users and Access.
2. Click the + button to add a new user.
Add the following 3 Locatify team members, one after the other:
- dev@locatify.com — First name: Leifur Bjornsson, Last name: Bjornsson — Role: Admin, with additional resource access: Cloud Managed Developer ID Certificate
- brandedapp@locatify.com — First name: BrandedApp, Last name: Locatify — Role: Admin
- jackfengji@locatify.com — First name: Jack, Last name: Fengji — Role: Developer
Apple occasionally requires the account owner to review and accept updated agreements or documentation — this is standard practice on their end. If this happens, the Locatify team may contact you by email asking you to log in and take action on your account (e.g., before we can upload a new app build). This usually only takes a couple of minutes to complete.
Well done, you have created your Apple Connect Developer Account!
