- Open your browser and type play.google.com/console or click directly on that link: Pre-registration | Google Play Console
- Choose your account type: Organization or For Yourself. If you are registered as a business, select Organization. To create a developer account, Google will request the following to verify your account:
- A D-U-N-S number for your organization
- A contact phone number and email address for Google Play users
- A contact phone number and email address for Google
- A form of payment (to pay the one-time USD 25 registration fee)
- Click on Get Started
- Add your developer name. This is what users will see on Google Play to represent your developer profile and apps. It can be different from the legal name of your organization and can be changed later. It has to be unique and can contain a maximum of 50 characters.
5. Create a payment profile: Add your organization’s address and your phone number. Your phone number has to be valid, Google will request to verify your account by sending you a code.
6. After receiving your confirmation code, enter the code and click on Verify, then Next.
7. Apps. This page concerns your App Development Plan. You will be asked:
- the number of Apps you are planning to publish ( 1; 2 to 5; 6 to 10 or more than 10). We suggest choosing more than 1 app even if you only have one app, this is to allow some margin of error.
- Earning Money on Google Play: select the options that apply to your project. You have options such as In-App Purchases and others.
- App categories: select the options applicable to your app or select none of the above if your app does not fall under any of these categories. Click on Next.
8. Terms: read and accept the terms of Google Play Console. It is recommended that you read Google Play developer distribution agreement and Google Play console terms of services. Click both check boxes to proceed.
9. Pay Registration Fees: there is a US$25 one-time registration fee that you can pay with the following credit or debit cards:
- - MasterCard
- - Visa
- - American Express
- - Discover (the U.S. only)
- - Visa Electron (Outside of the U.S. only)
- Note: Prepaid cards are not accepted. The types of cards accepted may vary by location.
10. Now your Developer Account is created!
11. Click on Go to Play Console. In the dashboard, you will be asked to Verify your ID, follow the instructions, upload a valid ID. The validation process can take a few hours to 2 business days. To find out if this is validated, connect to your account, it will be mentioned there when it’s ready.
