Solving Challenges
This setting controls when players are required to complete a location's challenges — right away, or on their own schedule.
How it works in the app
When a player reaches a location and opens the challenge(s), they can either:
- Solve now — complete the challenge immediately by pressing the arrow, or
- Use the top banner options to choose Later or Skip.
Solve challenge right away
Players must complete unlocked challenges before they can continue the game — the Later option isn't available. Skip always shows on the top banner and can be used at any time, letting the player forfeit the challenge for 0 points instead.
Solve challenge later
Players can view a location's challenges without completing them right away. Using the top banner, they can select Later to leave and come back to finish it at another time.
- An exclamation mark appears on the map next to any location with unfinished challenges, so players always know what's still outstanding.
- This is different from Skip, which lets a pla
- yer forfeit a challenge entirely for 0 points. Later just postpones it — the challenge is still there to complete whenever the player returns.
⚠️ Important: Game over timing
The game over message appears once all treasure locations have been found — regardless of whether every challenge at those locations has been completed. If a player has unfinished challenges when the last location is found, the game over message will still show.Players can continue to complete challenges and earn points after the game over message appears, up until the game actually ends (either at a scheduled end time, or when a game admin ends it manually).
Because of this, we recommend explaining this behavior in your game's start or finish instructions — so players understand that seeing "game over" doesn't mean their opportunity to finish challenges and earn points is gone.
